Community Development Block Grant Program

The Community Development Block Grant Program promotes economic development and job creation by providing assistance to cities. For cities with populations greater than 50,000, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development administers the program. The Executive Office of Communities and Development (EOCD) administers the program for smaller cities. The CDBG program aims to improve the economy on a local level by providing financing and other assistance for local economic development initiatives.
