Dan Derksen Dan is a family physician working on health policy issues for Senator Bingaman. He is a 2008 Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow. He has taught and practiced family medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona, and completed residency training at UNM. He has worked on programs and services to expand insurance coverage to the uninsured, improve access to care in rural & medically underserved areas, and create new health commons models of interdisciplinary, community-based care including medical, dental, and behavioral services. |
