Frederick Isasi

Frederick is Senator Bingaman's Legislative Counsel for Healthcare.  He is a lawyer specializing in public health policy and has worked extensively on low-income healthcare issues for several large national associations.  Before receiving his law degree, Frederick worked as a health policy advisor and as a researcher in several public health studies.  He also has extensive experience in biomedical research.  Frederick received his J.D. from Duke Law School, his M.P.H. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a bachelor degree in cellular biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.   

Dan Derksen

Dan is a family physician working on health policy issues for Senator Bingaman. He is a 2008 Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow. He has taught and practiced family medicine at the University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque for over 20 years. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona, and completed residency training at UNM. He has worked on programs and services to expand insurance coverage to the uninsured, improve access to care in rural & medically underserved areas, and create new health commons models of interdisciplinary, community-based care including medical, dental, and behavioral services.
